Oliver is a trained chemist and was introduced to photography by his father as a child. No wonder that he ended up making photographs with a Box Camera. He built an Afghan model and added a lens board that can mount anything from a large-format lens to a pinhole. He works primarily in Zurich but also around Switzerland, France and Italy. He experiments with fictional archives of the future and interventions as an ethnographic photographer from the past. “At a conference I once explained my work as an experimental archeology approach to photography.”
