Tess built her camera in the autumn of 2016. It is an adaptation of an Afghan-style camera with different inspirations from around the world. She calls her Box Camera project “Retro Ritratto”. Since she studied photography at the l’École Supérieure des Métiers Artistiques, she has mainly worked with traditional and alternative processes. “My work is currently figurative, focusing on two contrasting areas: portraits on the one hand and bare, desolate landscapes on the other.” Tess works with her Box Camera at different events and has also given workshops in photography and video.
