Luis had a memorable experience in 2006 with Teekam Chand and his brother Surendar in Jaipur, India. The brothers and their father have worked as Box Camera Photographers for decades on the busy city streets. Later, Luis came across the Afghan Box Camera Project and decided with a friend to build a replica of the Afghan-style camera. Luis is a trained photographer and started to work with black and white photography in the late 1990s. He also works with platinum palladium and wet collodion processes.
