In 2013, Adelaide based artist and art history lecturer Andrew Dearman built a large version of an instant box camera specifically designed for collodion wet plate photography. Since then, he has moved on to using smaller more traditional versions of the cameras—one for standard 4x5inch portraits, and one for 8x5inch tree portraits. Both these cameras are called ‘Ugliboi’. Andrew is moving towards doing more portraits, however his interest in how making landscapes causes you to be present in the moment is still very important.
