Irwandi, and M. Fajar Apriyanto are lecturers at he Photography Department of the Yogyakarta Indonesian Art Institute, where Ade Aulia Rahman is a student. Together they started their project “Transparent Camera” in 2017, building an Afghan Box Camera with one side completly open, protected by red acrylic glass. They use their camera as a performatory and participaotry tool. Everyone can be part of the development process. “We allow viewers to observe the exposure process, the use of chemicals and development. They are part of the experiment.”.
