Benoit’s photography deals with different traditional processes. He built his own Afghan Box in 2014 with help of the ABCP manual and Sébastien Bergeron. He has used it not only for his own pictures but as an eduction tool. “I like photography that takes its time, that which is above all an image, but which is also a matter of craftsmanship and materials, essentially with silver gelatine or traditional processes.”
For him the most beautiful think is the meeting of people while working on the street and sharing time with them. Benoit created the project SpiralCamera, making handcrafted wooden pinhole cameras. He is also a team member of Halogenure magazine, amongst others.
